RESCUE ON ENTRAPMENT WITH ST 42 (WASH TWP)

Rescue was requested by St 42 (Wash Twp) to assist with a MVA with entrapment and vehicle into woods. Rescue 17 responded with 5 and the Chief driving with both Assists going direct. Police on scene confirming entrapment. Rescue 42 arrived with one Pick-up truck into a tree with one trapped. Rescue 17 arrived and Assist 1 requesting both spreaders and both cutters into operation. Rescue 17 crew began stabilization and work on the passanger side of the vehicle to remove both doors. Extraction was complete within 10 minutes and patient was packaged for ems crew. Patient was transported to LZ at Rost/West Newton Ambulance base where St 80 (N.Belle Vernon) secured the LZ. Patient was transported to a Pittsburgh Trauma center by Stat Medavac. During the extraction it was discovered that the patient trapped was the son of our President. The officers and members wish him a speedy recovery and our thoughts and prayers are with the President and his family. 42 Ac was OIC, 17 A-1 had the extraction command. Station 4 Stood-by at St. 17.

 
 
STATION ON STRUCTURE FIRE WITH ST 32 (PERRY TWP)

Station was activated to assist St 32 (Perry Twp) with a structure fire at 29 Washington Mills with possible entrapment. Perry Police arrived to report a working fire. Rescue 17 with 4 & Engine 17 with 5 (slow crew) responded. Engine 32 arrived lying a 5" supply and made quick work of the fire containing it to the kitchen. Update was given of negative entrapment. Rescue 17 arrived and assisted with checking for extension, overhaul and lighting. Engine arrived to provide manpower. It turned out this was 32 Lieutant's residence and he was not at home when the fire broke out. No injuries were reported and all units returned to service. Chief 32 was OIC.

RESCUE AND SQUAD ON VEHICLE PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT

Stations 17 & 32 were activated for a vehicle pedestrian accident at 236 fayette City Rd. EMS Southwest arrived to find a male patient with head trauma and requested air transport to trauma center. Rescue 32 arrived with Squad 17 to find the accident in Perry Twp. Rescue 17 arrived and returned to Cope Rd & Fayette City to secure the LZ. Patient was packaged and transported to LZ by EMS Southwest. Patient care was transfered to crew of lifr flight 5 for transport to AGH Trauma Center in Pittsburgh. Chief 32 had the accident scene and Chief 17 handled the LZ. All units cleared at 16:44

EMS ASSIST WITH FLY OUT IN JEFFERSON TWP.

Station was alerted to assist ems in jefferson twp with a chst pain and diff. breathing. upon arrival EMS requested a helicopter for air transport to a stroke center. Squad assisted EMS with extraction from house and secured landing zone @ Cope Rd. intersection. Station 19 provided an engine at the LZ. all units cleared at 9:28 AM. Chief 17 was OIC.

STATION ON STRUCTURE FIRE WITH ST 42. WASHINGTON TWP.

Station was requested to assist St 42 (wash Twp) with a srtucture fire in the 700 block of Fayette Ave. Chief 80 (N. Belle Vernon) was first to arrive, being this was across the street from his residence, and reported a working fire. Ladder 42 arrived first and started and interior attack. Mutual aid units arrived to assist in ventilation and overhaul. Cause of fire was grease on the stove and extension into entire kitchen. Ladder 42 had a good knock on the fire. Rescue and engine both responded with a total of 10 personnel. Allunits cleared at 16:30. Assist 42-1 was OIC.

 
 
STATION DISPATCHED FOR RIVER RESCUE

Station was alerted to assist the police with a male in the river behind the fire station. Chief 17 arrived to find three police vehicles behind the station and was informed that they were chasing a male subject and he jumped into the river. Rescue 17 was brought out to light up the area being it was 4:00 am. upon leaving the station with the rescue chief 17 noticed that the Soda (Pop) machine had been broken into. After placing the rescues light tower into operation and starting to look the shore line with the thermal camera, chief 17 inquired from the police why they were chasing this individual. Police informed the chief he was breaking into the machine located in front of the station. Station 4 was requested to assist with their boat and thermal camera. Dispatch then notified command that PSP Belle Vernon had found wet foot prints on the opposits shore line in Allenport and an individual knocked on a door asking for a ride. this individual was soaking wet. the actor was not found upon PSP arrival at residence. All units cleared the scene.

 
   
   
 
STATION ON STRUCTURE FIRE WITH ST 32 (PERRY TWP)

Station was activated to assist St 32 (Perry Twp) with a report of a Garage fire endangering the structure. Rescue 17 with 5 and Engine 17 with 4 responded while enroute 32 Ac reported the fire under control and requested assistance with overhaul. Rescue 17 provided scene lighting and assisted with overhaul operations. All units cleared 00:20. Station 4 filled in St. 17 with an engine crew. Chief 32 was OIC.

 
 
RESCUE ON JEFFERSON TWP MVA

Station was alerted for 2 vehicle accident on Brownsville road in Jefferson Twp. near palms bar. Rescue 17 responded with 6 members. Upon arriving on scene Asst 17 updated the crew of one injury and possilbly 2 refusals. Brownsville and Rostraver/West Newton EMS took care of patients with the rescue crew setting up traffic and helping with patient extraction of one vehicle. One person was transported to a local hospital by R/WN Ems while Brownsville got two refusals. With both vehicle being off the road Rescue 17 and 19 engine 2 cleared the scene. PSP investigated, Station 19 (Grindstone) Assisted along with EMS. Chief 17 was OIC.

 
   
   
 
ATTACK ON UNKNOWN TYPE FIRE IN JEFFERSON TWP.

For the second time today Attack 17 was out for an unknown type fire in the woods near the Lowber area of Jefferson Twp. St. 19 assisted with there 4 wheel drive. Chief 17 arrived on location of Williams road on a Gas well access road to find an individual burning brush. Due to it not being a burn day Attack 17 extinguished the fire. The individual was of advised of the burn days in the Twp. and all units cleared. Chief 17 was OIC.

 
   
   
 
ATTACK & BRUSH RUN FIELD FIRE WITH ST 42 (WASH TWP)

On the coldest day of the winter St 17 assisted St 42 ( Wash Twp) with a brush fire in the Arnold City Area near Chief 42's residence. Chief 42 exited his residence and found the field on fire to the rear of his residence. Due to strong winds he requested his station and St 17 to Asist. Engine 42 and Attack 17 made quick work of the fire. This was the coldest day of the winter to date with temperatures in the teens. Chief 42 was OIC.

 
 
RESCUE ON WORKING STRUCTURE FIRE IN ST. 19 FIRST DUE

Station 17 was dispateced to Assist St 19 (Grindstone) with a report of a Structure Fire in the Taylor Patch section of Jefferson Twp. Rescue 17 responded with a 4 man crew. First arriving personnel reported a working fire with possible entrapment. 19 Engine 1 arrived at location and reported a working fire with no entrapment and requested mask men to the scene. Rescue 17 was requested to provide mask men to the rear of the structure and to vent the roof if possible. Capt and lieut reported to the rear of the structure and entered encountering heavey fire in the middle of the structure. Chief 17 vented the roof with help fron St. 5 (N. Brownsville). St. 6 (S. Brownsville) secured a water supply. Ladder 42 (Wash Twp) positioned for a defensive attack if necessary. St. 32 (Perry Twp)& St. 11 (Dawson) supplied additional personnal for fire attack. The interior of the house suffered extensive fire and water damage. After checking for hot spots and extension all units cleared the scene @ 2:30 pm. PSP fire marshall was investigating. Red Cross was notified to help the family living in the residence. Chief 19 was OIC.

 
   
   
 
WORKING STRUCTURE FIRE IN BORO

Just after returning from search with St. 42 Station was alerted for a Structure Fire on South High Street in the Boro. Rescue 17 responded with 6 immediately and Asst 17-2 was on scene reporting a working fire in the second floor. Chief 17 requested the second alarm assignment. Rescue arrived to find fire venting from two windows on the second floor. 2 1.75 hand lines were placed in service one on the interior and the second from the exterior. Engine 17 arrived and supplied the rescue with water. Truck 42 set up for ventilation and Engine 4 secured a hydrant for engine 17. The rescue crew made quick work of the fire containing it to the room of origin. Crews on scene assisted with overhaul and ventilation. Red cross was notified to assist family living in residence. PSP Fire marshall was called to investigate. No civilian or firefighter injuries wer reported. Assisting were stations 4,19,30 Air,32, 42 and 7-RIT. All units cleared the scene around 9:15 PM. Chief 17 was OIC.

Assist St 42 Wash Twp with a search for 8 year old child that left residence. Assisted with manpower and Quad. Individual was located after arrival and taken to St. 42. All units cleared.

 
 
RESCUE ON VEHICLE ACCIDENT WITH ST 42 ( WASH TWP)

Station 17 was requested to Assist St 42 with a vehicle fire near the Orr farm on Perryopolis Rd. Rescue 17 responded with 5 and Asst 17-1 responded direct. Chief 42 arrived first and updated the call to a vehicle accident with a pole sheared off and possible entrapment. Rescue 17 arrived and began extuishment of vehicle and crew advised Chief 42 there was a body in the vehicle. After vehicle was fully extinguished the scene was secured for police and coroners office. Rescue 17 and Engine 42 extracted the victim after coroners office and police were finished with there investigation. Rescue 17 cleared the scene at 3:12 am to service. Chief 42 was OIC.
